During the field trip for understanding the Buddhist history in Northern region, the Buddhist High School in Ben Tre province held on December 3 a ceremony for releasing fresh water fishes and birds at Ho Tay lake located in Hanoi’s Tay Ho district.
Present at the ceremony included Senior Venerable Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Clergy Education Committee in Ben Tre cum Head of the Buddhist high school Thích Trung San, Senior Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Buddhist Propagation Committee in Ben Tre Thích Huệ Đức, Senior Venerable Member of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee cum Chairman of the VBS’s executive board in Ben Tre’s Mo Cay Nam district Thích Xương Tâm, 168 student monks and nuns of the 3rd Buddhist course (2017-2021) of the high school, and local Buddhists in Hanoi.
At the releasing ceremony, over a ton of fresh water fishes has been released into Ho Tay lake and 200 birds set free into natural environment.
