Buddhist group from Hanoi presents gifts to the poor in Quang Binh

On July 21, a Buddhist group from Hanoi led by Venerable Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board in Hanoi city’s Long Bien district Thích Thanh Trung paid a charity visit to Quang Binh province’s An Ninh commune.

During the visit, the delegation presented 25 gift packages (each gift pack worth 500 thousand VND, including milk, candies and 200,000 VND in cash) to families under the special-care policy in An Ninh commune, and handed over 80 gift sets (each gift set worth 400 thousand VND, including books, notebooks and candies) to children from poor families in the commune.

On the occasion of the 70th Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), the Buddhist delegation also visited and offered incense at the tomb of General Võ Nguyên Giáp in Quang Binh province’s Quang Trach district, and cemeteries and memorials in the province for expressing deep gratitude to heroic martyrs’ great sacrifice for national liberation and unification.

The charitable delegation composed of elite artists of Huyền Trâm and Kim Thoa, singers from Nhat Tam Buddhist group and large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and followers living in Hanoi.
