Buddhist Family in Da Nang city establishes team of blood donating volunteers

Along with the development of Buddhism in Da Nang city, the Buddhist Family in the city – a form of Buddhist association as established elsewhere in the country - has created its own history of around 60 years.

For the past years, the city Buddhist Family have actively conducted many practical social and charitable activities, including the annual program of support for students taking university entrance exams, charity visits to difficult or flooded localities, sending gifts to poor Buddhist youth on Tet and traditional festivals, ect.

Recently, the Buddhist Family in the city created a team of blood donating volunteers named “Blood Donating Volunteers of Da Nang Buddhist Family” in order to help patients in need of blood transmission, and the team organized its first gathering of about 70 participating members on Nov. 19.

In this first gathering, the blood donating team has approved its rules, which stated that member shall join the team voluntarily for the sole purpose of saving people’s life, each member shall join only one team for favor of monitoring and supporting, members are not allowed to receive money from patient’s relatives, members shall be ready to donate blood at any time in the day, ect.
