Buddhist dignitaries, student monks and nuns of Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Hanoi cast their vote in national election

On the morning of May 23, 434 dignitaries, student monks and nuns of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Hanoi cast their ballot in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for 2021-2026 tenure at the polling station No. 9 in Soc Son district’s Phu Linh commune.  

The opening ceremony at the polling station set up within the Buddhist institute was started at 6.45 am and saw the presence of Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Quyết, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Central Executive Council cum Head of the Buddhist Institute, and members of the Buddhist institute’s management boards, and all student monks and nuns of the institute.

During the election, all Buddhist monks and nuns of the training institute have strictly observed of the Covid-19 prevention measures, including facemasks, safe distance and hand-washing, etc.

As planned, at the polling station in the Vietnam Buddhist Institution, monks and nuns cast their vote for selecting three deputies to the National Assembly and 11 deputies to the People's Councils of Hanoi city, Soc Son district and Phu Linh commune.
