Buddhist delegation in Ho Chi Minh sent relief worth over five billion to flood-hit people in Central region

A delegation led by Senior Venerable Thích Trí Chơn, Director of Buddhist Culture Board under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Ho Chi Minh City cum Abbot of Khanh An monastery visited three Central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue on November 11-14 for presenting reliefs to locals who severely affected by recent floods.  

In Quang Binh province, the delegation handed over 425 gift sets containing cash and necessities valued at over 422 million VND to people in Le Thuy district’s Lam Thuy commune, and 630 similar gift sets worth 579 million VND to people in Tuyen Hoa district’s Thanh Hoa commune.

In Quang Tri province’s Huong Hoa district, the delegation presented 908 gift sets to locals in Huc commune and 951 gift sets to locals in Ba Tang commune, worth over 1,769 million VND in total.

People severely affected by floods in Quang Tri receive reliefs

On the last day of the trip, the relief delegation visited Thua Thien Hue province’s A Luoi district and presented 300 gift sets in A Roang commune and 464 gift sets in Lam Doi commune, with the total value of over 740 million VND.

During the charity trip, the relief delegation also visited the VBS chapter’s executive committee in provinces and donated 20 million VND to each pagoda badly damaged by floods in the three provinces.

The total value of relief supplies in the three provinces of Central region was about four billion VND. In addition, the delegation presented one billion VND for rebuilding some damaged houses and building floating houses for helping people cope with floods.
