Buddhist College in Tien Giang opens new school year

The new school year 2020-2021 of the Buddhist College under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Tien Giang province was solemnly opened at a ceremony held on September 17 in Vinh Trang pagoda located in My Tho city’s My Phong commune.  

Present at the event included Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Pháp, Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS in Tien Giang cum Head of the Buddhist College Thích Huệ Minh, and 350 participants who are heads of the VBS’s executive board of 11 districts, and enrolling in the new school year.

Guests at the event included Chairwoman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in Tien Giang Bùi Thị Mai, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the province Huỳnh Văn Hải.

As reported at the ceremony, the 2020-2021 school year of the Buddhist College in Tien Giang included Buddhist students of the 3rd course (2019-2021) and 4th course (2020-2022) on Buddhist studies, the 8th middle-level Buddhist course (2020-2023) and a professional training class for heads of Buddhist worshipping places.

On the occasion, the Buddhist College also presented graduation certificates to Buddhist students of the 2nd course (2018-2020) on Buddhist studies, the 7th middle-level Buddhist course (2017-2020), and the 6th elementary-level Buddhist courses (2019-2020).
