A Buddhist club in Dong Thap province’s Thanh Binh district established for promoting water hygiene and waste treatment has formally made its debut at a ceremony held on December 01.
The ceremony was co-organized by Thanh Binh district Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and People’s Committee, and attended by representatives of local authorities and a large numbers of local Buddhists and people.
As informed at the event, the Buddhist club will develop action plans for disseminating and instructing Buddhist followers and locals to remove pools of stagnant water, use hygienic water, collect and put garbage in the right place, etc. The club will also hold regular meetings to improve working efficiency, thus practically contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development in the province.
