Buddhist Church in Kon Tum holds requiem for fallen solders

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Kon Tum held on March 31 a grand ceremony praying for fallen solders and dead victims’ spiritual uplifting and peace in Khanh Lam Pagoda located in the province’s Kon Plong district.  

Attending the ceremony included leaders of the provincial Buddhist chapter and state authorities, and large numbers of officials  and Buddhists in the province.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Kon Plong district authorities Nguyễn Văn Lân highlighted the organization of the requiem as a practical commemoration of the fallen solders and a contribution to educate young generations to be grateful to those who renders meritorious service to the country and its people. 

According to Venerable Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Nhuận Bảo, given profound compassion, love and gratitude to those having sacrificed their life for the country’s independence and unification, Buddhist rituals, prayers and invocations would contribute to bring peace and spiritual uplifting to fallen solders and dead victims.
