Buddhist Church in Ha Tinh’s Vu Quang district holds Buddhist congress

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Ha Tinh province’s Vu Quang district solemnly held its 1st congress on Sept. 4.

Attending the event included Buddhist dignitaries from Ha Tinh provincial VBS Executive Committee and about 150 monks, nuns and followers.

As reported at the congress, Vu Quang district VBS Chapter has recorded many good results in social and religious activities for the past years, including the upgrade of two Buddhist pagodas of Ngoc Quy and Phuong Hoang with the total amount of over VND 444 million and contribution of over VND 431 million to charities for the poor and victims of natural disasters in the locality.

The one-day congress also selected 15 monks and nuns to the new-term VBS Executive Board in the district for 2016-2021 tenure.
