Buddhist charity board in Ho Chi Minh City launches program for presenting 20,000 medicine packs for Covid-19 treatment at home

Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee cum Head of the VBS’s Social Charity Board in Ho Chi Minh City sent on August 29 a launching message for presenting 20,000 medicine packs for Covid-19 treatment at home.

In accordance with the Health Ministry’s standard regulations, each medicinal pack includes a home care handbook for Covid-19 patients, 20 medical face masks, 100ml of antiseptic solution, 500ml of mouthwash solution, thermometer, spO2 meter and some drugs are used to treat Covid-19 patients which divided into two categories of patients with no symptoms or mild symptoms and those with early symptoms of respiratory failure. The average cost of each medicine pack is 500,000 VND.

20,000 medicine packs for Covid-19 treatment at home would be presented to disadvantaged people infected with the epidemic and do not have access to medical treatment in hospitals or medical centers in Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier, the VBS social charity board has launched series of charitable activities for supporting the Covid-19 prevention and those badly affected by the pandemic, such as offering meals to the frontline medical force, donating medical equipment and oxygen to hospitals, donating cash to the Covid-19 vaccine fund, offering funeral support for those who have unfortunately passed away due to Covid-19, etc.
