The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Dong Nai province held on December 7 a ceremony to commemorate the 710th anniversary of the attainment of Nirvana by King-Monk Trần Nhân Tông (1308 - 2018).
The event taking place at Thuong Chieu Buddhist monastery saw the attendance of Deputy Patriarch of the VBS Most Venerable Thích Thanh Từ, Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Counil Thích Nhật Quang and large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in the locality.
Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Committee Trần Tấn Hùng and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hòa Hiệp.

During the event, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers recalled the life and great contributions of King – Monk Trần Nhân Tông, the founder of Vietnam Truc Lam Zen Buddhism.
On the same day, Hoang Phuc pagoda located in My Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province also organized a ceremony to mark the 710th death anniversary of King – Monk Trần Nhân Tông.
