At the ceremony launching “month for the poor” held on October 17, Buddhist organizations and establishments under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Tien Giang province pledged to contribute VND 5.63 billion to the poor for 2018.
The ceremony was held following a conference reviewing the fund raising for the poor in 2017 by the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Tien Giang province on occasion of Vietnam’s Day for the poor (October 17).
The conference was chaired by Vice President of the VFF committee in the province Huỳnh Văn Hải and attended by large numbers of representatives of local authorities, religious organizations and individual religious and sponsors.
