The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’ Executive Committee in Quang Nam province held a ceremony on October 4 to celebrate the 35th founding anniversary of the VBS (November 7th, 1981 - November 7th, 2016).
Attending the event included Most Venerable Head of Quang Nam VBS Chapter’s Executive Committee Thích Thiện Duyên, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lê Văn Thanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyễn Văn Long and over 200 Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in the locality.

During the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Duyên read the VBS’s message on its 35th anniversary and reviewed the development history of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
As reported, the Buddhist Chapter in Quang Nam province recorded many good results in Buddhist affairs for the past years.
In addition, over the past 35 years, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in the province have contributed nearly VND 300 billion to social-charitable activities.

On the occasion, Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to seven groups and one individual of the VBS Chapter’s Executive Committee for their outstanding achievements in Buddhist affairs and socio-economic development in the province.
