Buddhist chapter in HCMC sends support to poor people in Ha Tinh

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s charity board in Ho Chi Minh city organized on October 19 a charity visit to disadvantaged people in the three central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Nghe An.     

Joining the charity delegation visit included Mrs. Mai Thị Hạnh, the wife of former State President Trương Tấn Sang, and other sponsors.   

In Ha Tinh province, the charity program took place at Da Pagoda in Tung Anh commune of Duc Tho district, Phuc Lai Temple in Son Bang commune of Huong Son district, and But Son pagoda in Phu Loc commune and Lo – Truc Lam Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Yen Loc commune of Can Loc district, and the charity delegation presented 1,000 packets of support to poor people in the three districts.

Each packet, containing daily necessities and VND 300,000 in cash, has the total value of VND 600,000.

In other two provinces, the charity delegation has handed over 1,000 support packets to disadvantaged households in Quang Binh, and 200 packets to poor families in Nghe An.

As reported, the Buddhist charity program for the poor in the three central provinces has the total value of 1,3 billion VND.
