A delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Committee in Hanoi city led by Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Bảo Nghiêm paid a visit on January 30 to Hanoi municipal authorities, ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2019.
Secretary of the municipal Party’s Committee Hoàng Trung Hải welcomed the Buddhist delegation.
During the reception, while extending traditional New Year greetings to officials of the municipal government, Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm took the chance to thank the municipal authorities for favorable conditions extended to the VBS Chapter in Buddhist practices over the past year.
Secretary Hoàng Trung Hải informed the guests results of socio-economic development in Hanoi in 2018 and lauded the Buddhist followers’ practical contributions for the development of the city. He expressed hope that VBS Chapter would encourage followers to proactively participate in building and developing the city.
