Buddhist Chapter in Ba Ria – Vung Tau raises VND 5 billion to support flood victims in Central region

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’ Executive Committee in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province organized a fund raising on October 27 at Dai Tong Lam Buddhist School for supporting flood victims in the Central region.
Addressing at the event, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Quảng Hiển called on Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in the province to promote the tradition of “whole leaves protect torn ones” for supporting flood-hit victims in Central region to overcome difficulties.
During the event, Buddhists monks, nuns and followers contributed over VND 150 million.
With the amount of cash collected at this fund raising, the VBS Chapter in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province has contributed approximately VND 5 billion to support the Central region’s flood-hit residents.
To bring relief to the victims, the VBS Chapter in Ba Ria-Vung Tau has sent six relief teams to help people seriously affected in the devastating flood in the Central provinces of Vietnam.
