Attending the events included members of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee in the province, representatives from local authorities and large numbers of monks, nuns, and followers in the locality.

The Buddha’s Birthday marking the birth of Gautama Shakyamuni Buddha, known as Vesak Day, is one of most important Buddhist events.

During the ceremonies, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers had opportunities to learn about the message of the VBS Supreme Patriarch on Vesak Day 2018 as well as meanings of Vesak Day.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism presented certificates of merit to two collectives for their outstanding contributions in promoting values of historical and cultural relics and tourism. Three Buddhist individuals were also awarded with certificates of merit by the provincial religious committee.
