Bishop of HCMC Archdiocese extends Vesak congratulation to local VBS Chapter

On May 8, Auxiliary Bishop of Ho Chi Minh City’s Archdiocese Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng paid a visit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in HCMC located in Viet Nam Quoc Tu Pagoda, on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2017 (B.E. 2561).

The Auxiliary Bishop’s visit was joint by Priest Head of the Archdiocese’s Board of pastoral affairs for Inter-religious Dialogue Francis Xavie  Bảo Lộc and welcomed by Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the VBS cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in HCMC Thích Trí Quảng.

During the visiting reception, Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng extended best wishes to Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng and other Buddhist dignitaries on the Buddha’s birthday celebration 2017. He also stated that each religious feast is such an opportunity for Buddhism and Catholicism to strengthen its cordial relationship for bringing happiness to all people regardless of their religious background.
