Binh Phuoc province: More professional training and capacity building for officials working on religious affairs is needed

A working group led by Vice Chairman of the Central Highland Steering Committee H’Ngăm Niê K’dăm had a meeting with Bình Phước provincial People’s Committee to review ten-year implementation of Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism on May 22.
Attending the meeting were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Huy Phong and representatives from related local agencies and departments.
It’s reported at the meeting that Binh Phuoc province is home to 33 Protestant sects with nearly 60,000 followers in which nine sects have been organizational recognized by the state. In addition, 426 out of 429 Protestant meeting groups have been registered with local authorities in accordance with the Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Central Highland Steering Committee H’Ngăm Niê K’dăm highlighted results of the implementation of the directive in ten years in the locality. She also urged local authorities to create favorable conditions for Protestant chapters and meeting groups to practice the religion in accordance with the law, as well as organize religious trainings and capacity building for officials working on religious affairs in order to meet practical needs in the locality.
