Binh Duong province: Religious organizations sign coordination program on environmental protection

Binh Duong provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment co-organized on July 22 a meeting with local religious organizations for signing a coordinating program for environmental protection and climate change response.
The event was co-chaired by the provincial VFF Committee Chairman Huỳnh Văn Nhi and the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment Deputy Director Nguyễn Hồng Nguyên and attended by religious dignitaries of several operative religions in the province, including Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism (three denominations), Caodaism (five Caodai sects), the Pure Land Buddhism Home-Practice Association, representatives of concerning agencies, and organizational members of the provincial VFF Committee.
During the event, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment briefed the meeting the present situation of environment and climate change, key policies and tasks for environmental protection and climate change response in the province.
Later, the provincial VFF Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment launched and signed a coordinating program on environmental protection and climate change adaptation with religious organizations for 2015-2020 period.
