On August 3, Binh Duong provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) organized a conference to honor “Good People, Good Deeds” in Catholic communities.
Attending the meeting were Priest Vice President of the central CSVC Phan Khắc Từ, representatives from local authorities and 125 typical people from Catholic communities in the locality.
Over the past five years, Catholic dignitaries and followers in the province have proactively joint in movements launched by local authorities, especially the campaign “All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas and live a better secular and religious life”. Social and charity activities have been conducted in the 2010-2015 period with a total value of over 41 billion VND.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics presented certificates and medals of merit to individuals for their outstanding contributions in 2010-2015 period. The conference also nominated five typical Catholics to attend the fourth upcoming national CSVC conference.
