Chairman of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Văn Lộc led a delegation to visit and meet with local delegates to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) 8th national congress at Hoi An pagoda in the province on November 15.
Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Discernment Council cum Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS Chapter in the province Thích Huệ Thông and delegates nominated to attend the VBS’s national congress welcomed the delegation at the office of the VBS Chapter based in Hoi An pagoda.
During the visiting reception, while extending best wishes to delegates of the VBS’s national congress, Chairman Nguyễn Văn Lộc highly acknowledged practical contributions made by the provincial VBS’s Chapter in charities and social contributions over the past years.
Most Venerable Thích Huệ Thông took the chance to thank local authorities for creating favorable conditions extended to monks, nuns and Buddhist followers over the past years.
Earlier, 14 members of the VBS Chapter in the province representing over 167,000 Buddhists in the locality have been selected to attend the VBS’s national congress to be held on November 19-22 in Hanoi city.
