From August 23rd to August 28th, 2014, the Mercy Association from Quan Am pagoda (Ho Chi Minh City) and held a charity trip to Binh Dinh province to conduct eye surgeries for the poor people and present gift boxes to poor pupils. The charity delegation included the volunteers and sponsors led by Nun Huệ Đức.
Sponsors and supporters of 150 eye surgeries were Viet Chay restaurant, Tien Trien company, Biochem chemical companies, Thanh Nien Corporation and doctors at the Truong Vuong hospital (HCMC) and Binh Dinh hospital.
Apart from eye surgery charity, Vinamilk company and Tin Nghia company co-sponsored 2,000 gift boxes for poor pupils each gift box containing 1 school bag, 10 notebooks, 1 Vinamilk pack, 2 pens, and 1 hat. Additionally, 90 scholarships were granted to high school pupils (each scholarship worth 1 million VND) and other 310 scholarships were awarded to elementary and secondary school pupils (each scholarship worth 500 thousand VND)./.
