(BGO) – The casting ceremony of Dai Hong Chung (enormous bell) for Lower and Upper pagodas was organized on January 21 in Tay Yen Tu ecological spiritual tourism complex (Dong Thong hamlet, Tuan Mau commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province).
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Linh; Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong; Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council and Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet; leaders of the provincial departments, sectors, Son Dong district, enterprises and local people.

At the event, the representatives carried out the incense offering ceremony in the Lower pagoda and eyed each step of bronze bell casting. Concretely, two newly cast bells will be suspended in the tower of Lower and Upper pagodas. Each bell weights 500 kilograms with 1.4-meter height and 1-meter diameter cast by the bronze founders in Nam Dinh province from 650 kilograms of pure bronze.

On the occasion, the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam cast the one-ton bronze incense burner and received numerous contributions of gold, silver and cash from the participants. The typical donors included Tran Anh Tuan, General Director of Tuan Mai Trading Joint Stock Company with 600 million VND (26,400 USD) and Ngo Van Son, General Director of Lam Son Trading and Construction Company with 500 million VND (22,000 USD) among others.
