Bau Sen Pagoda located in Hoa Tho Dong ward, Cam Le district, Da Nang City formally launched a model for environmental protection at a ceremony held on July 29.
The model “Bau Sen Pagoda’s Buddhists and Green - Clean - Beautiful Environment” was a response to the program on environmental protection and climate change adaptation signed between the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front committee, natural resources and environment department and religious organizations in the city.
Attending the ceremony included Nun Abbess of Bau Sen Pagoda Thích Nữ Tịnh Minh, the pagoda Buddhists and representatives of local authorities.
The launching model works for achieving 19 criteria ensuring the environmental protection and climate change response, including raising locals’ awareness on the issue and keeping the pagoda and surrounding residential areas clean and green.
During the ceremony Buddhists attending the ceremony signed a commitment for implementing the model. Right after the ceremony, they started cleaning pathways and residential areas adjacent to the pagoda.
