The provincial government of Bac Ninh has approved a project on creation of database for cultural heritages in the province.
The approved project will be implemented in the period of three years, from 2018-2020, by the provincial department of culture, sport and tourism in collaboration with the center for promoting scientific and technological development and database experts from the ministry of natural resources and environment, The project has a total investment of VND 45 billion.
Main contents of the project include the developing of a management software for all cultural heritages, creation of digital database of each heritage with a complete profile containing historical accounts, current images, videos and audios, as well relating materials.
For implementing the project, new technologies, including 2D and 3D images, unmanned aerial vehicles, global positioning system, cyber-physical systems, satellite images or photos with high resolution, etc will be used.
According to statistics, Bac Ninh province is currently home to 529 communal houses, 146 worshipping temples and over 160 shrines, and about 550 traditional festivals held each year. Especially the UNESCO has recognized Quan Ho (love duet) singing in Bac Ninh province as the intangible cultural heritage of humanity and classified Ca Tru (ceremonial singing) also in the province as the intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.
