Bac Ninh province’s leaders attend Do temple festival 2015

Bac Ninh province’s leaders attended the Do Temple Festival's opening on May 3, marking 1,005 years since King Lý Thái Tổ- Lý Công Uẩn, who began the Ly dynasty, took the throne.

Distinguished guests included Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Hữu Quất and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Tử Quỳnh.

The festival took place on the 14th day of the third lunar month and lasts three days with art performances including Quan ho folk songs and water puppet performances; and traditional game competitions, such as wrestling, chess, cockfighting and pigeon-releasing.

Do Temple (or Ly Bat De temple) was built in 1019 in honor of eight Ly emperors and classified as a special national relics in 2014.
