Bac Lieu: Work starts on Hoa Binh church

On October 24, 2013, the Hoa Binh chapter of the General Confederation of Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Southern) held a ground–breaking ceremony for the construction of its church on an area of 3,295 sq.m in Hoa Binh town, Hoa Binh district, the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu.

Attending the ceremony were representatives from the local authorities as well as those from the Church, including pastor Nguyễn Hữu Bình, Treasurer General; pastor Nguyễn Văn Ngọc, permanent member, together with pastors and followers inside and outside the province. On January 7, 2011, the Hoa Binh group was recognized as a chapter by the General Confederation and it was officially recognized by the authorities on March 9, 2012. Its followers have continuously increased since its recognitation, now numbering 200, with Khmer ethnic people accounting for 80 percent.

The construction of the church is estimated to cost 3.4 billion VND, including such works as:

1.     The church: 10m in width and 23m in length, 250 seats

2.     House of Superintendent

3.     Christian classrooms
