On August 14th, 2014, the Southwest Steering Committee in collaboration with the Bac Lieu province Party Committee held a meeting with religious dignitaries, deacons and followers in Bac Lieu city to disseminate about the Party’s policies and State’s laws on religion and ethnicity.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Hà Hữu Liền, Director of Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs under the Southwest Steering Committee; Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân, Former Vice-Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and over 500 religious dignitaries, deacons and followers in the Bac Lieu city.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân briefed about religious situation in the whole country the implementation results of the Party and State’s policies on religion and ethnicity in Mekong Delta’s provinces and cities as well as disseminated guidelines, policies of the Party and State on religion and ethnic people. Besides, he also stated the role and responsibility of ethnic minorities, religious dignitaries, deacons and followers in the whole country in general, and in Bac Lieu province in particular, in the cause of building and defending the country.
This meeting aimed to improve participants’ knowledge about guidelines and policies of the Party and State, enhance the awareness and responsibility in preserving and promoting the great national unity block, and striving for prosperity in the country.
