The Ba Chua Xu (Regional Goddess) Temple Festival 2019 formally opened on May 26 in Ba Chua Xu temple located in Nui Sam (Sam Mountain) ward, Chau Doc city, An Giang province.

The 2019 festival taking place from May 26-31 featured traditional ceremonies such as the Goddess procession, bathing of Ba Chua’s statue, invocation of Thoai Ngoc Hau’s spirit, offerings, etc.

Beside sacred ceremonies, more communal art performances and games bearing traditional culture of Kinh-Cham-Hoa-Khmer people such as tug of war, flying kite, Chinese chess, cock fighting, etc were organized in this year festival.

Ba Chua Xu Temple Festival usually takes place from the 23rd to 27th of the fourth Lunar month attracting over four million people every year.
