An arts programme, entitled ‘The Sacred Realm of Dong Loc’, was held at the Dong Loc T-junction historical relic site in the central province of Ha Tinh on July 23rd to mark the 70th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day (July 27th, 1947-2017).
The programme, which was co-organized by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Ha Tinh province and Vietnam Television, was attended by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.
Addressing the programme, member of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Thuận Hữu emphasized that the great sacrifice and contributions of heroic martyrs will be forever highlighted in the country’s history while always being remembered as a source of pride and encouragement among all generations of Vietnamese people.
He also underlined the sacrifice of ten young female volunteers who laid down their lives to safeguard the transport route linking to the southern front on July 24th, 1968 at the Dong Loc T-junction.
The programme featured songs and dances recalling the heroic sacrifice of the young volunteers as well as praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the country, as well as Ha Tinh province in particular.

At the programme, Chairman of Ha Tinh provincial People’s Committee Đặng Quốc Khánh noted that the heroic tradition, particularly the victory of Dong Loc T-junction, has become a great spiritual resource of encouragement to the local Party, army and people to overcome all difficulties in developing the province.
At the programme, PM Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and representatives of the organising board presented ten savings booklets worth a total of VND 200 million (USD 8,800) to the families of the fallen young female volunteers as well as gave 24 savings booklets worth VND 240 million (USD 10,560) to sick and wounded soldiers and policy beneficiary families.
In addition, VND 200 million (USD 8,800) was presented to Lam Hong Study Encouragement Fund and the management board of the Dong Loc T-junction historical site.

On the same day, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and head of the PCC’s Commission for Organisation Phạm Minh Chính visited and presented gifts to sick and wounded soldiers at the Thuan Thanh nursing centre for wounded soldiers in Bac Ninh province.
An arts programme, entitled ‘The Immortal Children’, was held in Hanoi on July 23rd by the Nha Bao va Cong Luan (Journalists and Public Opinion) Newspaper and the National Assembly Television Channel to commemorate martyrs, war invalids and injured soldiers. The event was attended by Vice President Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh.
On the occasion, President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Trần Thanh Mẫn visited and presented gifts to wounded soldiers Nguyễn Thị Sen and Phạm Thị Dung in Hung Phuc war, Vinh city, Nghe An province.
Also on July 23rd, Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng offered incense and flowers at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery in Quang Tri province in tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for national independence and liberation as well as the people’s happiness.
In the morning of the same day, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, in collaboration with Front 479's Veterans in Hanoi, offered incense and laid wreaths to commemorate heroic martyrs as well as presented 256 gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, wounded soldiers, relatives of fallen soldiers and overseas students from Cambodia studying in Vietnam./.
