On August 31, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, non-resident special envoy of the Vatican to Vietnam visited the Cathedral of Vinh Long diocese.
Welcoming Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli’s visit were Bishop Phero Dương Văn Thanh, priests, clergies and Catholics in Vinh Long diocese.
During the visit, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli expressed his delight in coming to the Cathedral and meeting with Catholic dignitaries and believers there. He also preached and offered a holy ritual to God and blessings to Catholics in the diocese.
Vinh Long diocese was established in 1938 and its Cathedral currently has 10 priests, 7 clergywomen, two interns and about 4,800 members living around Vinh Long city.
