An Giang province: Long Xuyên Protestant Church establishes new chapter

Binh Duc chapter under Long Xuyen Protestant Church was officially established at a ceremony held in Long Xuyen city on October 31.

Attending the event included Pastor First-Vice President of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) (South) Phan Vĩnh Cự, Pastor Superintendent of Long Xuyên Protestant Church Cao Văn Hoàng, commissioned pastors and about 200 Protestant followers in the locality.

Local guests at the ceremony included Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Nguyên Châu and local authorities’ representatives.

At the ceremony, Protestant dignitaries and followers sang hymn, listened to preaching "The Lord’s good work" and Pastor Lê Văn Như Kỷ announced the established decision by the ECVN.  Later, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Nguyên Châu read and handed over the Decision on recognition of Binh Duc Protestant chapter which currently has over 130 followers. On this occasion, the chapter’s provisional representative board also made its official debut.
