On the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay - the traditional New Year festival of Khmer ethnic minority people, the Youth Union in Phu Giao district of Binh Duong province in collaboration with Tong Kim Quang pagoda held on April 14 Khmer youth festival.

The festival featured activities of Khmer traditional dances and folk games such as blindfolded hitting the hanging clay pots, sack jumping, tug of war, eating apples, etc.

Earlier, the Youth Union in Tra Vinh province held on April 12 an ethnic youth festival in Ang Kôl pagoda located in Long Vinh commune of Duyen Hai district.
The event also honored 12 Khmer ethnic young people in the locality, established a seven - member Khmer traditional dance club in Long Vinh commune, supported start-up businesses for five young Khmer ethnic people in the district, with a total amount of 250 million VND.
As reported, in 2023, the provincial Youth Union of Tra Vinh in collaboration with the provincial bank for social policies to disburse over seven billion VND to help over 150 Khmer ethnic youth.

During the event, participating youth joined in art performances and learnt about culture of the Khmer ethnic people through traditional songs and dances, and folk games such as tug of war, Ngo boat racing on land, etc.
