Venerable Thích Mãn Ngộ was formally appointed as Abbot of Quang Xa pagoda located in Quang Binh province’s Quang Ninh at a ceremony held on November 3 by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee in the province.
The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Tánh Nhiếp, Chairman of the VBS’s executive committee in the province, representatives from local authorities and large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and laymen.
During the event, Most Venerable Thích Tánh Nhiếp presented the appointment decision to Venerable Thích Mãnh Ngộ, Head of the legislation board under the provincial VBS’s executive committee cum Deputy Head of the Quang Ninh district VBS’s executive board, as Abbot of Quang Xa pagoda.
