The Representative Committee of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) in Lam Dong province held a solemn ceremony on October 27 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Protestantism in the province.
The event taking place in Da Lat Protestant church was presided by Pastor Member of the ECVN’s executive committee in charge of pastoral affairs in Lam Dong province Kon Sa Ha Hack and attended by Pastor President of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) Thái Phước Trường and over 5,000 Protestant dignitaries and believers in the province.
Guests at the event included Vice Chairman the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Minh An and representatives from local authorities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Lê Minh An extended best wishes to Protestant dignitaries and followers of the ECVN (South) and acknowledged practical contributions made by the Protestant Church in the past 90 years. He expressed hope that the Church would encourage followers to proactively participate in movements launched by state authorities for the socio-economic development in the province.

Lam Dong province currently has 34 Protestant sects with about 93,000 followers, 99 churches, 353 Protestant congregations, 61 worshipping places, 132 pastors, commissioned pastors and missionaries. Eight Protestant organizations have been recognized or granted the registration certificate for operation. In particular, the ECVN (South) has over 77,000 followers 92 chapters, 155 congregations, 103 pastors, commissioned pastors and missionaries and 54 worshipping places. Protestants who belong to ethnic minorities groups make up 89% of the total Protestants in the province (about 82,000 followers).
