8th congress of Catholics for national construction & defense in Hanoi to be held in late November

The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) in Hanoi city held on a November 15 a press conference on the 8th congress of Catholics for national construction and defense in the city.

According to Dr. Phạm Huy Thông, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in the city, the 8th congress of Catholics for national construction and defense in the city will be held on November 21-22 in Le Hong Phong International Centre, Ba Dinh district with the participation of nearly 400 delegates representing over 207,000 Catholics in the city.
The congress will review results of the CSCV’s activities for the 2027-2022 tenure, elect the CSCV’s executive committee in the city for the 2022-2027 and select members to be attend the 8th national congress of Catholics for national construction and defense for the 2023-2028 tenure.
Over 207,000 Catholic followers in Hanoi city (accounting for 3% the city population) reside in 326 out of 579 communes, with 42 villages having 100% of villagers being Catholics.
