4,000 youth attend Buddhist summer camp in Dong Nai

The 12th Buddhist Youth Summer Camp themed "The Spirit of the East Region" took place at Phuoc Son Zen Monastery in Bien Hoa city of Dong Nai province from July 19-22.

The Buddhist camping draw as many as 4,000 youth, age from 14-25, from the Vietnam Southeastern provinces of Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tay, Binh Duong, Binh Phuong, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to the largest number of participating youth ever attending held Buddhist camps, 500 youth volunteers were also mobilized for assisting the organization of this year’s camping.

Camp activities included lectures on living a lifestyle inclined to the good, applying the Dharma to one’s life, chanting, meditation and lit candles.  

The camp aimed to inspire the gratitude of youths, students, and Buddhists to grandparents and parents, and respect to the predecessors and those who sacrificed their lives to defend national independence.

The Buddhist event also created great opportunities for exchanges and networking amongst Buddhist youth in Southeastern region.
