The 2nd congress of Catholics for the national construction and defense in Quang Binh province was successfully held in October 7 in the province.
Provincial authorities present floral congratulations to the congress
The event taking place in the main hall of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Committee in the province saw the presence of Chairwoman of the provincial VFF Phạm Thị Hân, Chairman of the provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization Lê Văn Bảo, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Đoàn Ngọc Lâm, representatives of the Committee for Solidarity of Catholics of Vietnam, and 90 delegates representing Catholic followers in the province.
The congress nominated 45 members to the Committee for Solidarity of Catholics in the province for the 2022-2027 tenure, with Priest Acting President of the Committee for Solidarity of Catholics in the province in the 1st term Michael Hồ Thái Bạch was selected as President of the Solidarity of Catholics Committee in the province in the 2nd term.
The congress also selected members to participate the 8th National Congress of Catholics for the national construction and defense for the 2023-2028 tenure.
On the occasion, two Catholics received certificates of merit from the Committee for Solidarity of Catholics of Vietnam, the Solidarity of Catholics Committee and five Catholic individuals in the province received certificates of recommendation from the provincial People’s Committee and the provincial VFF respectively for the practical contributions to the national construction and defense.
