The municipal People's Committee of Phan Thiet City held on August 18-20 the 13th Nghinh Ong (Whale Worshipping) festival.

This was part of events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Binh Thuan province (1992-2022).
Nghinh Ong festival traditionally held every two years, in even-numbered years, aims to preserve and promote traditional values of local people of Chinese origin.
The Nghinh Ong festival 2022 featured worshipping rituals and dragon and lion dance performances, in which, the highlight was the Whale God procession on streets with the participation of over a thousand mass actors from temples and dojos in the city and neighboring localities.
