Attending the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thanh Hà, Director of the Centre for Preservation of Religious-Cultural Heritage Trần Khánh Dư, Vice President of the Vietnam UNESCO Calligraphy Club Trần Quốc Chí, Venerable Abbot of Thien Truc pagoda Thích Thanh Lượng, members of the Nhan My school’s Management Board, representatives from the Institute of Hán-Nôm Studies, the Institute of Chinese Studies, the Cultural Heritage Department under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry, local authorities’ representatives and large numbers of students of the school.

Nhan My school is a place for teaching Han-Nom language and calligraphy. During ten years, the school has provided many programs of free training for about 1,000 participants of different ages. Almost all teachers of Nhan My school are currently working at the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Institute of Hán-Nôm Studies.

The Han–Nom language (Hán-Nôm), consisted of orthodox Chinese characters supplemented by a set of new characters specifically created to write Vietnamese words, has been used in writings at many monuments, couplets, inscription and ancient scriptures…

On this occasion, the Centre for Preservation of Religious-Cultural Heritage presented a certificate of merit to typical individuals and groups at Nhan My school for their outstanding achievements.

Later in the day, the 4^th Han Mac Calligraphy Exhibition was opened at Thien Truc pagoda.
