Bishop Dominique Nguyễn Chu Trinh of Xuan Loc Diocese chaired the inauguration and consecration ceremony for Xuan Son parish church in the diocese’s Tuc Trung vicariate on April 20 in Dong Nai province.
Attending the ceremony were Vicar General of Xuan Loc Diocese Đặng Văn Tú, Priest in charge of Tuc Trung vicariate Lưu Thành Tâm, 70 priests from Catholic dioceses and large numbers of guests and followers of Xuan Son parish.
Reportedly, Xuan Son meeting group was established in 1990 accommodating Catholic workers from Thanh Son and La Nga communes. Xuan Son meeting group became a separate Catholic community under Ngoc Thanh parish in 2002 and was recognized as a parish six years later. Xuan Son parish currently has 275 Catholic families with over 1,200 followers.
