Prime Minister meets with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin on sidelines of G20 Summit in Brazil

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính held on November 19 (local time) separate meetings with leaders from Canada, Singapore, Spain, Paraguay, UAE, Vatican and the World Health Organization (WHO) on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil.

During the meetings, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính conveyed greetings and the invitation to Vietnam of General Secretary Tô Lâm, State President Lương Cường and Chairman of National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn to the leaders of those countries.
At the meeting between the PM and Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the two sides expressed their pleasure at the positive developments in the Vietnam-Holy See relationship recently, as evidenced by high-level visits and exchanges between the two sides. The PM expressed his appreciation and respect for the good sentiments that Pope Francis and Cardinal Prime Minister Pietro Parolin have for Vietnam, and took the chance to invite Vatican’s Secretary Pietro Parolin to visit Vietnam. The Vatican Prime Minister accepted the invitation with pleasure, and also shared that Pope Francis eagerly looks forward to visiting Vietnam, thus contributing to promote the bond between the Holy See and the Vietnam Catholic Church, and further fostering the relationship between Vietnam and the Vatican.
