Xuan Dinh festival dedicating to Confucius took place on March 20 at the Temple of Literature historical – cultural relic site (Van Thanh Mieu) located in Ward 4 of Vinh Long city.
Van Thanh Mieu relic site in Vinh Long was built in the late 19th century by Mandarins Phan Thanh Giản and Nguyễn Thông under Nguyen Dynasty for worshipping Confucius and his elite students. The temple was recognized as the national cultural - historical relic site in 1991.

Themain festivals annually held at Van Thanh Mieu include Xuan Dinh in the second lunar month and Thu Dinh in the eight lunar month, and death anniversaries of Mandarin Phan Thanh Giản and Teacher, Cultural Celebrity Chu Văn An, etc.
These festivals aim to preserve fine culture values of the people in the South in general and Vinh Long province in particular.
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, this year festival was simply held with the attendance of representatives from local authority, and locals and visitors.
