On August 25, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) held a workshop on “Implementing the recommendations of Universal Period Review (UPR) on human rights in labour and social sector” in Hanoi.
The workshop was organized within the framework of the project “Integration of gender equality in decent work legislations and policies in Vietnam” with the aim to consult relevant stakeholders on the draft Action on implementing UPR recommendations in labour and social sector.
This event was presided by Deputy Director of the MOLISA International Co-operation Department Đào Quang Vinh and attended by Director of the Foreign Information Authority under the Ministry of Information and Communication Lê Văn Nghiêm, and representatives from central departments, agencies as well as Embassies of several foreign countries in Vietnam.

During the workshop, participating delegates discussed on three main topics including the drafting of an action plan on implementing UPR recommendations in labour and social sector, experiences on developing action plan on implementing UPR recommendations in information and communication and UPR recommendations in labour and social sector in Vietnam, and the implementation through policy and legislations (human right educations; labor standards; gender equality; ratifying human right instruments; ensuring the rights of vulnerable groups; economic, social and cultural rights…)./.
