Work starts on Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Ca Mau

The construction of Truc Lam Zen Monastery was kicked off at a ceremony held on December 30 in Tan Xuyen ward, Ca Mau city.

Attending the ceremony included Buddhist dignitaries from the Ca Mau provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, monks, nuns and about 500 Buddhists from localities.

Distinguished guests at the event included General Phạm Văn Trà, former Defense Minister, Chairman of the provincial Government Committee for Religious Affairs Huỳnh Ngọc Sang and local authorities’ representatives.

Covering a total area of nine hectares, the construction of the monastery is scheduled to be completed in 12 months with a total investment of over 100 VND billion with facilities including the main worshipping hall, bell and drum towers, the triple gate, etc.
