The White-Cloth Caodai Church successfully convened its 6th national congress on May 19 at Ngoc Kinh Holy See located in Hoa An village, Mong Tho of Kien Giang province’s Chau Thanh district.
The event saw the presence of members of the Caodai Church’s High Council and the standing committee and delegates from 14 parishes of the Church.
Distinguished guests at the event included Director of Caodai Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên and representatives from local authorities.
The one-day congress discussed results of social and religious activities of the Church in the past term and approved working plans for the 2022-2027 tenure, as well as approved the amended Charter of the Church in accordance with the Law on Belief and Religion.
As reported at the event, for the 2017-2022 tenure, the White-Cloth Caodai Church has recorded many good results in religious affairs including the restoration and reconstruction of 11 Caodai oratories with the total investment of over 10 billion VND and the organization of 62 religious tenet training conferences with the participation of over 5,900 dignitaries and followers, etc.
In addition, members of the Caodai sect have contributed nearly 20 billion VND to social and charitable projects for building 30 charity houses and repairing 12 houses for the disadvantaged, upgrading two rural bridges, presenting scholarships and books to pupils, operating charity kitchens in hospitals, donating relief supplies free medicines, facemasks, etc.

Addressing the national congress of the Caodai Church, Director of the GCRA’s Caodai Affairs Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên expressed hope that the Caodai Church would further promote its fine traditions and encourage members of the Caodai sect to proactively join local patriotic movements, contributing to build a prosperous and civilized country of Vietnam.
