The Vietnamese Buddhists in Laos gathered in Phat Tich Pagoda in Vientiane on February 4 to pray for peace and happiness on occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year.
During the meeting, Most Venerable Abbot of Phat Tich pagoda Thích Minh Quang took the chance to share meanings of the traditional Lunar New year and highlighted the need to preserve Vietnam’s cultural identity and traditions.
Built in 1957, Phat Tich Pagoda has been among spiritual centers of the Vietnamese community in Vientiane and nearby localities. The pagoda has also acted as a bridge for Vietnamese in Laos to support each other in their lives.
