The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Committee for Cultural Affairs held on March 22 a forum to introduce clothing designs of Vietnamese Buddhism at Phap Hoa Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending the event included Most Venerable Head of the Committee for Cultural Affairs Thích Trung Hậu, and large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries, designers and researchers on fashion and media agencies.
According to Venerable Deputy Head of the Committee for Cultural Affairs Thích Thọ Lạc, the seminar is part of the project on Buddhist clothes approved by the VBS’s Executive Council two years ago.
So far, there have been three displays of designing samples of Buddhist dresses, including clothes for Mahayana Buddhism, Buddhist Bhikkhu sect, Khmer Theravada Buddhism and Theravada Buddhism… with many positive feedbacks.
