The establishment of Vietnam Catholic Academy under the Catholic Bishops Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) was officially announced at a ceremony held on August 6 in Ho Chi Minh city.
Attending the ceremony were Archbishop President of the CBCV Bùi Văn Đọc, CBCV’s Deputy General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Khảm, Bishop Head of Vietnam Catholic Academy Đinh Đức Đạo.
Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Lê Bá Trình, Deputy Director of Catholic Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Đặng Trung Thành.
The establishment of Vietnam Catholic Academy was approved by Decision No.289 dated on August 3, 2015 of the GCRA Chairman.
